"Fub Olympics is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining an unbalanced diet with very little exercise that hinders the qualities of the body, will and mind. Blending sports with beer, cigarettes and over-eating.

Fub Olympics seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in accepting low standards, the value of bad habits and the ultimate respect for not achieving anything."

- Fub Olympic Charter, Fundamental principles, paragraph 1 section 1

THE WHAT

The Fub Olympics is an annual event held at St. Ruggle's Fairgrounds in Ottawa Lake, MI since 2005.

The current format for the Fub Olympics begins with a random draft that pairs up to 36 Fub Athletes into 18 teams.

These 18 teams then play a 9 game round robin in which they compete once in every event.  Events consist of traditional yard games as well as custom games developed by Fub-Mar Enterprises.

At the conclusion of the Round Robin stage, the 18 teams are seeded according to accumulated points (3 pts for win, 1 pt for tie).

The top 16 ranked teams are seeded in a single elimination tournament, while the 17th and 18 ranked teams play each other to win "Just Better than WOZ Place" or just better than dead last.

Teams in the tournament compete in an event chosen by the lower seed until there are only four teams remaining.  Losers of the final four games play each other for 3rd and 4th place.

Medals:

1st - Gold
2nd - Frankincense
3rd - Myrrh
4th - Fub Place
17th - Just Better Than WOZ

THE HOW

The idea of the Fub Olympics was born during a game of volleyball when Mark "Fub" Reynolds found athletic and social inspiration as a volleyball bounced off of his pepperoni nipple and over the net for a miracle point that surprised all who were witness to the feat.  After his moment of glory on the volleyball court, Reynolds believed that fat ugly bastards, like himself, were far more capable than commonly believed and deserving of the same opportunities and experiences enjoyed by 'normal' people.

Reynolds needed a partner with the right connections, which he ultimately found in Matt "Muhl" Uhl during the 2005 NFL Draft Party.  Uhl was a long time participant in former athletic competitions such as the Uhl Family Hobo Dinner Games and Uhl-Stough Challenge featuring events such as musical chairs, balloon toss, and relay races.  Matt was also the only one who owned a Baggo game at the time.  After some half-ass planning and brief discussions, Reynolds and Uhl formed the Fub Olympic Committee (FOC) and planned the inaugural Fub Olympics.

The Fub Olympics had humble beginnings as the FOC struggled to field a group of 24 athletes for the 2005 games.  Many athletes didn't know what to think of spending the day competing in yard games for no prizes other than bragging rights and a buzz.  But 2005 proved a HUGE success for the FOC, forcing many expansions and a need for the development of new yard games.
Marty "Mar-Mar" Stough joined the FOC in 2006, and FUB-MAR Enterprises was quickly commissioned to develop new games,  create super happy fun packs, host mock drafts, and fine-tune the overall experience of the Fub Olympics.  The games have grown over the years to hosting 36 athletes and featuring 9 original Fub-Mar games.

THE WHO

There have been over 100 individual Fub Athletes participating in the Fub Olympic Games.  While a large majority of these Fub Athletes hail from the United States, the event has been represented by athletes from 13 counties across the globe.
